Created from more than 30 years of experience teaching young beginners, this method was developed by drum teacher, conductor, and multi-instrumentalist Alicja Urbanowicz together with her son Szymon, now a professional concert drummer. Their experience has been transformed into a simple step-by-step system that children can understand intuitively.
HOW THE METHOD WORKS
Each rhythm is presented on a single page, helping children focus on one skill at a time and build confidence through small, achievable successes.
Instead of traditional drum notation, children learn using a clear visual system that shows:
Rhythms are practiced in repeating patterns, just like real drumming. Once a rhythm is learned, children can immediately try it with songs counted in four beats and begin developing timing, coordination, and musical confidence.
WHAT'S INSIDE
NO DRUM SET REQUIRED
Children can practice many of the exercises using a table, pillows, books, practice pads, or everyday household objects. Rhythm and coordination can begin developing long before a full drum set is available.
SKILLS CHILDREN DEVELOP
• Sense of rhythm and steady timing
• Hand and foot coordination
• Focus and concentration
• Listening skills and musical awareness
• Confidence through structured progress
• Early drumming fundamentals
